My New Diet

As you can see, I am not impressed with my no bread lunch sandwich! I have been trying to cut carbs out of my diet. Not completely but I do eat too much. Well this is my lunch for the week, along with a lot of fruit. And I'll tell you I am not loving it.

Fried Fish Night

My amazing friend, LaToya, invited me over for a Friday night fish fry! I met LaToya over a year ago at work and as fellow English majors, we instantly hit it off. Well I have never fried fish before. I haven't really tried my hand at frying much of anything other than green tomatoes! Though I would love to make donuts at home!
LaToya showed me how to tell when the oils is hot enough, how to make the perfect seasoning, and I fried for the first time some delicious tilapia!
I brought to the evening homemade sangria. Both were a huge hit!

House Sitting

For the past week I have been house sitting. And dog sitting. It's been wonderful having
- a driveway
- cable
- air conditioning

Overall it's been like a getaway! My sister and the kids came over one day for lunch. My nephew Beckett loved Zoe. She is an incredibly active and happy older dog. And she loved Beckett too. She even did her famous trick of saying "I love you"!

Our Museum Adventure

MOLAA had a wonderful free event last weekend with live music, face painting, a maraca building station, and local art. The latin festival was a great way to spend the hot humid day, occasionally wandering through the museum for small doses of air conditioning. And best of all was the interactive exhibit inside for Beckett and Dashiell to play in.

* Not to worry, Beckett didn't drive to the museum, only hungout while his car seat was being put in my car. Normally his Auntie Lala has a seat, but with so much summer activities going on it was being switched out from car to car.

Baking Goodness

A while back, my lovely friend was throwing a surprise birthday for her man. Not being much of a baker she asked me to being dessert. Now this guy is the epitome of an all-American man. So I was leaning towards pie. I asked my friend and she said, "You know I really have no idea. I'm not good at baking so I never make him anything."

Well it was a small get together of friends at The Queen Mary. Drinks and old timey music at The Observation Deck. So I decided, I'll just do both!

A chocolate cake with milk chocolate icing and a three berry pie! And both were a hit!

For all of my friends' babies I have been working on clip on ties as well as barrettes.

I made this hand drawn/colored calendar for my then boyfriend for Valentine's day. He loves fixed gear bikes and owns a few of them. So I took photos of his actual bikes and made this calendar

Emmy's 30th Birthday Brunch

Here are the photos from the 30th Birthday Brunch I threw for Emmy. All the hard work turned into a pretty wonderful party. I made everything...seriously... from food to decorations. But it was worth it.
